I discovered Entrecard from an article posted over at BloggingMix.com where Rocky pointed out that Advertisers Dislike Entrecard Traffic. According to his post, an advertiser who earlier approached him retracted from his offer after the advertiser found out that one of the major sources of traffic for Blogging Mix is Entrecard.

What is Entrecard?
Entrecard is a service that helps bloggers do a lot of things, which includes:
- Advertise on other blogs.
- Increase their blog traffic from visits made by Entrecard users.
- Advertise at Problogger, JohnChow and the other blogs where regular advertisement will normally cost a lot.
- Networking with other bloggers.
- Discover other blogs.
- Shopping at the stores exclusively for Entrecard users.
How Does Entrecard Works?
In order to enjoy the benefits that Entrecard offers, you need to become a member and place the Entrecard Widget. The Entrecard widget comes in three different sizes but the main feature, which is known as the Entrecard is 125X125. Here’s how the three widgets look like.

Once you are a member, you will need to earn Entrecard Credits by dropping your Entrecard on other blogs with Entrecard widgets installed in them. Another way to earn Entrecard Credits is to accept advertisements from other Entrecard users. They usually EC credits pay to advertise on your blog. Also, there are lots of Entrecard contest held every week where they give away lots and lots of EC credits you can join.
The BIG Problem
There is NO DOUBT that Entrecard can bring traffic to your blog. Entrecard can help you improve your Alexa Traffic Rank and Entrecard allows you to discover other blogs and network with other bloggers. There’s only one big problem which kept other bloggers from using Entrecard. There have been a lot of disgruntled Entrecard users who permanently abandoned the service. JohnCow.com is one of them.
The BIG problem was that the traffic coming from Entrecard is poor in quality. Most Entrecard users just drop by other Entrecard users’ to drop their card and earn a credit. They are not really there to read post or to network. This resulted in a high bounce rate for most blogs using Entrecard.
What do you think of Entrecard? Are you satisfied with the quality of traffic you generate from using the service? Do share you thoughts through the comment.
Thank you for your time. ![]()
