It’s sad that not a lot of people are interested in the history of their own countries anymore.:(I wonder what thosegreat individuals who strove to fight for future generations would say if they only knew that their battles of the past brought about more fights instead of freedom now. Sure, we go about making a semblance of civilization to make our “battles” less barbaric, but it’s really the same thing, isn’t it? We fight for lands (between owners, the legitimate vs. the illegitimate ones, that is), we fight for space (”Stay away from my airspace!”/”Give me breathing room!”)
Heck, a lot of people are strangers to their own land. No one even bothers to visit the places that are key to their country’s story. They don’t even know how to speak their mother tongue, whether by choice or not, who knows? The point is, people are slowly and steadily letting go of a crucial part of their identity, and they do so without even the slightest bit of regret.
Sometimes, I wonder why, along the way, we end up having our priorities messed up.
