You can’t get any more shoujo than this anime. The first few episodes and you’re already crawling with bishounen (add to that an emperor who apparently likes men, and you get… yaoi fangirl service)!
I suppose this is actually a pretty old series, considering it was aired way back in April 2006. But I’ve only seen this a few days ago.
The story takes place in medieval empire of Saiunkoku, which reassembles Ancient China. When Saiunkoku lost its emperor, his 4 elder sons killed each other for the throne, and one other was exiled for treason. The 6th son, Shi Ryuki, became emperor, but had no interest in governing his country… Until his first, and only consort, Ko Shurei, enters the palace and educates him about the life outside his palace walls.
This is most certainly an interesting anime! I need to find all the episodes of this soon and marathon them! ^_^ And here I thought I can’t find an anime I’ll like…
